Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that Kyiv aims to liberate 2000 more settlements from Russian forces. Ukraine said that Russian missiles struck a maternity ward in the Zaporizhzhia region, killing a newborn baby. Ukraine’s state energy firm Ukrenergo said that Russian attacks on Ukraine’s power grid have caused “colossal damage”. Former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Volodymyr Ohryzko said a group of people around Putin are discussing how to oust him from power. Germany’s Chancellor Olaf Scholz told his country that it must be ready for the crisis in Ukraine to escalate. Reports suggest that the CIA is looking to recruit Russians who are disgusted by Putin’s war. US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said Washington would provide $4.5 billion in financial support to Ukraine.
