0patch, a Europe-based third-party security company, provides targeted micropatches intended to protect Windows 10 systems after Microsoft ceased regular updates on October 14, 2025, ZDNET reports. ZDNET's review explains that 0patch creates tiny, focused updates from publicly disclosed vulnerability information and distributes them to users; co-founder Mitja Kolsek said the company has "limited control over the influx of vulnerability information," and on average users can expect about two to three micropatches per month, though the number varies.

The service releases patches only for vulnerabilities that meet strict criteria — for example, if an exploit is publicly known or actively exploited and no official Microsoft fix exists — and ZDNET's reviewer noted receiving four patches over four months. There are multiple tiers: the Free tier delivers zero-day patches for critical issues, while the Pro plan (priced at €25 per year, roughly $30, with a 30-day trial) adds post-End-of-Service and legacy patches; an Enterprise plan costs €35 per year.

ZDNET found the 0patch app easy to install and use, with an agent that automatically applies micropatches and a dashboard that shows active protections, and the reviewer said uninstalling removes all patches.
