ZDNET writer Adrian Kingsley-Hughes outlines 10 tiny gadgets he keeps on his keychain so essential tools are always within reach.

The core of his setup is a KeySmart Air that serves as the main key loop and can carry an Apple AirTag. He also highlights a YubiKey 5C NFC hardware security key with USB-C and NFC, and a KeySmart 5-in-1 multitool that functions as a box opener, mini pry bar, mini ruler, flathead screwdriver and Phillips screwdriver.

Other items he carries include a KeySmart polyamide safe box cutter which he often uses as a pry tool, retractable KeySmart NanoScissors for threads and small cuts, a Nite Ize S-Biner SlideLock with two gated sliders, and a Lumintop EDC Pico rechargeable flashlight with a 4.5-hour low-power runtime, aircraft-grade aluminum construction, an IP68 rating and a twist-cap operation for low and high beams.

He also keeps a Gear Aid glowing keychain that is waterproof up to 50 meters, a KeyUnity carabiner multitool that packs seven functions (flathead and slotted screwdrivers, seven hex wrench sizes, bottle opener, pry bar, scraper, key loop and ruler), and a SIM tray eject tool. Kingsley-Hughes says you do not need everything on the list and that the approach is customizable; he notes some items are discounted and that he has started testing the Olight IMINI 2 as another everyday carry flashlight option.
