10 Worst Movies of the Last 25 Years, Ranked
Cinema has been alive and well over the last 25 years, producing both winners and misfires. This list focuses on the latter — films that are generally not fun in a bad way. The Room isn’t here because The Room is just too much fun. Kevin Smith’s Yoga Hosers attempts a comedic-horror riff but rambles and fails to land its strange ideas, even while referencing Clerks’s convenience-store roots.
Steven Seagal’s Sniper: Special Ops feels static and uninspired, with a lead performance that never suggests investment. Birdemic: Shock and Terror aspires to Hitchcockian menace but delivers terrible effects, baffling dialogue and wooden acting. Battlefield Earth, with John Travolta, drifts into overacting, poor pacing and something close to a slog.
Saving Christmas is a messy, preachy effort in which Kirk Cameron largely plays himself while trying — and failing — to persuasively argue the film’s point.
