$100K Action Thriller 'Hierarchy' Is a Global Streaming Success on Netflix
An indie action thriller made for $100,000 and released in 2025 is finding new success on Netflix. The film, framed as an indie take on Michael Mann’s Heat, combines a tight script and strong performances with shootouts that the piece says hold up against Hollywood action pictures.
Added to Netflix among its March 2026 arrivals, Hierarchy — from Russell K Reed and Chiderah Uzowulu — climbed the platform’s global charts and reached the 10th most popular movie spot, behind Alan Ritchson’s War Machine at number one. Written by and starring Chiderah Uzowulu, and featuring Xavier Alvarado, Carol Hickey, Jenny Frame and Neyla Cantu, Hierarchy is a high-octane heist thriller about two adoptive brothers planning one final score while police and the Russian mob close in and family secrets threaten to unravel their plans.
After a limited theatrical run the film streamed on Starz and moved between free services like Tubi and Pluto TV before landing on Netflix.
