14 Years Later, Liam Neeson's Forgotten Fantasy Sequel Surges on Netflix
Streaming algorithms have a way of reviving long-buried films. FlixPatrol data shows Netflix recently pushed a 2012 fantasy sequel into the platform’s global top charts, alongside Ridley Scott’s Prometheus. The film in question is Wrath of the Titans, the 2012 follow-up to 2010’s Clash of the Titans.
Jonathan Liebesman directed the sequel, which reunited Sam Worthington with Rosamund Pike, while the reboot that preceded it was helmed by Louis Leterrier and featured Worthington, Mads Mikkelsen, Gemma Arterton, Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes. Wrath of the Titans closed its worldwide run on about $302 million against a reported $150 million budget, having followed Clash of the Titans, which grossed nearly $500 million on a reported $125 million budget.
