Clint Eastwood's 2008 film Gran Torino has re-emerged on streaming, ranking among the ten most-streamed titles on AMC+ in the U.S. Sixteen years before his 2024 film Juror #2, Eastwood debuted what many consider one of his most brutal films, and it became his highest-grossing picture at the time.

Gran Torino earned a reported $270 million worldwide against a reported budget between $25 million and $33 million, and features Eastwood alongside Bee Vang, Ahney Her and Christopher Carley, with casting that prominently included Hmong American actors. The story follows retired autoworker and Korean War vet Walt Kowalski, who fills his days with beer and home repair while holding deep resentment toward many of the Asian, Latino and Black families in his neighborhood.

Walt becomes a reluctant protector when gang members try to force a teen to steal his prized car, and an unlikely friendship grows as he discovers more in common with his neighbors than he first believed.
