2026 BAFTAs: What to Know Ahead of the Ceremony
The BAFTA Film Awards, commonly known as the BAFTAs, take place Sunday night in London. Britain’s equivalent of the Oscars, the ceremony is the British movie industry’s major award show and often seen as a bellwether for the Academy Awards; all of last year’s major BAFTA acting winners went on to win at the Oscars.
The event will be held at the Royal Festival Hall and is scheduled to start around 4:45 p.m. local time (11:45 a.m. Eastern). Viewers in Britain can watch a delayed broadcast on the BBC from 7 p.m. local time, and U.S. audiences can see the show on E! at 8 p.m.
Eastern and 8 p.m. Pacific. Top contenders include "One Battle After Another," which received 14 nominations, and "Sinners," which has one fewer; both will compete with "Hamnet," "Marty Supreme" and "Sentimental Value" for best film.
