Everything to Know About the 2026 Paralympic Winter Games in Milan Cortina
With the Olympic flame extinguished, attention now turns to the Paralympic Winter Games in Milan Cortina, marking the 50th anniversary of the first Paralympic Winter Games. The competition highlights athletes with disabilities and will add wheelchair curling mixed doubles as a new Paralympic medal event.
The Games run March 6–15, 2026, while wheelchair curling opens earlier on March 4. The Opening Ceremony is scheduled for March 6 in the Verona di Arena, featuring the athlete parade and torch lighting, and the Closing Ceremony will take place March 15 in Cortina d’Ampezzo at the Cortina Curling Olympic Stadium.
Events are spread across three clusters: Milan, Cortina d’Ampezzo, and Val di Fiemme. Cortina will host Para alpine skiing (speed & technical) and Para snowboard; Val di Fiemme will stage Para cross-country skiing and the Para biathlon; and Milan will hold Para ice hockey and wheelchair curling.
