2026 Subaru Uncharted mixes Subaru tuning with Toyota hardware
Much of life with the Uncharted feels distinctly Toyota. The large 14-inch multimedia touchscreen runs more advanced software than a 2026 Crosstrek or Forester, and many interior bits—the plastics, dash texture, shift knob, dual smartphone charging pads and minimalist gauge screen—are classic modern Toyota parts.
Under the hood almost everything bore Toyota stickers, down to the 12 V battery. A number of functions are handled by discreet buttons, but you must use the touchscreen to operate the climate controls. Toyota will build the Uncharted, and deliveries should begin this spring shortly after C-HR customers start receiving cars.
Telling the two apart takes a close eye: the Subaru has a bulkier front end with more unpainted plastics and a slightly cleaner rear that better displays the branding written out (no Pleiades logo). EV packaging helps here—the Uncharted is 1.4 inches (35.5 mm) longer than a Crosstrek and offers about 10 percent more cargo volume, which is useful for hauling gear to the trail.
