25-year-old found fatally shot in Nashville; girlfriend arrested and charged
People reports that Gracey Adams, 25, was found fatally shot in a bedroom of a Nashville home on Kingview Drive on Saturday, Jan. 3, and that her girlfriend, 29-year-old Sarah Stacey, was arrested and charged with criminal homicide after implicating herself during a police interview, authorities said.
Police initially identified Stacey as a person of interest; an update said she “implicated herself in the case during an interview with lead detective Cooper Gauldin,” and that she was located on Port Anadarko Trail and arrested on Sunday, Jan. 4. Adams’s mother, Amy McClure, told local outlet WSMV that a chaplain called her father, who then called her, and that she “knew immediately who did it. My heart shattered.” McClure said that, following a relapse earlier in 2025, Adams was sober on Christmas and had recently spent time with family.
Her stepfather, Chip McClure, called Adams “such a light,” saying her legacy will endure, and her sister posted a Facebook tribute. The family plans to create a foundation in her name, Gracey Kayla Hope, to help other families impacted by substance abuse. Stacey has been charged with criminal homicide; the police update provided the arrest and charge information.
