3 Best Movies to Watch on Prime Video This Week
Prime Video’s movie charts have been dominated by comedies recently, but a new champion has emerged: Frank E. Flowers’s swashbuckling action thriller The Bluff. Starring Priyanka Chopra and Karl Urban and produced by the Russo Brothers, the revenge-thriller take on Pirates of the Caribbean explores the conflict between a former pirate and her old captain and has been well-received by critics and audiences.
If that’s not quite what you’re in the mood for, here are three other standout films to stream this week. Josie and the Pussycats (2001) is a musical comedy written and directed by Harry Elfont and Deborah Kaplan, based on the Archie Comics series and Hanna-Barbera cartoon.
Rachael Leigh Cook, Tara Reid, and Rosario Dawson play the Pussycats as the girl band stumbles into a conspiracy while rising to a number one hit. The film underperformed on release and drew mixed reviews, but its soundtrack was a hit and it has since developed a cult following as a sharply satirical take on the pop industry.
