3-year-old dies after attack by grandmother's dog in Minnesota

People reports that 3-year-old Beckett Brown died after being attacked by his grandmother's American bulldog at her New York Mills, Minn., home on Sunday, Jan. 11.

The Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office said the toddler climbed into the outdoor enclosure for Kristen Nelson's dog; Nelson was injured while trying to intervene. Around 1 p.m., Nelson called 911 and drove herself and Beckett to the Perham Health Emergency Room, where authorities met them and began investigating; Beckett died due to his injuries.

Nelson was taken to a hospital in Fargo for treatment of her "significant" injuries, and her current condition has not been shared. The dog was euthanized by the family, authorities said, and the investigation remains ongoing.
