To many modern movie fans, James Cameron is known as the director of the Avatar films, which have collectively earned over $6 billion at the global box office. He also directed Titanic, which earned over $2.2 billion, and launched the Terminator franchise in the early 1980s with Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Cameron is hopeful to soon begin work on the fourth Avatar movie and has confirmed he is working on a new WWII film that will dive into the bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Some would argue his finest work came in 1986 with Aliens. Cameron took the torch from Ridley Scott, director of the 1979 original, and managed to deliver a sequel that stands alongside the first film.

Aliens grossed over $130 million against a relatively modest $18 million budget and earned 94% from critics and 96% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. Although the film may be absent from streaming libraries in America, it recently premiered on HBO Max globally and has quietly smashed to the top of streaming charts.
