Since 9-1-1 moved from FOX to ABC, the series has remained a strong performer for the network thanks to its stable ratings and streaming viewership. ABC ordered two more shows from Ryan Murphy: Doctor Odyssey and 9-1-1: Nashville, though Doctor Odyssey failed to secure a renewal.

The second spinoff premiered last fall and saw a mixed reception, but it has found an audience whose size has impressed the network.

Both 9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Nashville will return with new seasons this fall. The renewal comes as both shows continue to air new episodes; 9-1-1 is in its eighth season, while 9-1-1: Nashville is airing its freshman season.

The renewal of the flagship series was almost guaranteed. This article covers a developing story. Continue to check back with us as we will be adding more information as it becomes available.
