Hugh Jackman is best known as Wolverine, but he’s also a seasoned stage performer and singer. After spending the better part of the 2020s on his return as Wolverine, he made a musical comeback last year, teaming with Kate Hudson in Song Sung Blue, a biopic about Lighting and Thunder, a Milwaukee couple posing as a Neil Diamond tribute act.

Song Sung Blue earned strong scores—77% from critics and 97% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. Critic Tania Hussain wrote that Jackman and Hudson’s performances elevate what would normally be a standard musical biopic. The film grossed $57 million against a $30 million budget, enough to avoid being branded a flop but not quite enough to be called a success.

The movie premiered late last year and recently debuted on Peacock, where it has held the streamer’s #1 spot for over a week. Craig Brewer wrote and directed the film, which is based on a documentary by Greg Kohs.
