Abubakar Salim is both an actor and the founder of Surgent Studios. He first learned PC games with Windows classics like Pinball, Minesweeper and Solitaire, and later played Bayek in Assassin's Creed: Origins before appearing in the Ridley Scott-produced drama Raised by Wolves.

Surgent Studios has released Tales of Kenzera Zau and Dead Take. Surgent's current project, FixForce, is in Steam early access. The cooperative physics puzzler sends robots on post-apocalyptic maintenance jobs where players build platforms from in-game objects.

Salim says the idea came from a Baldur's Gate 3 video of a player stacking crates and evokes the Garry's Mod spirit of building amusing, chaotic structures. Salim switches between No Rest for the Wicked and Dave the Diver, praising their satisfying progression loops.
