Stephen Hibbert, best known for playing The Gimp in Quentin Tarantino's film Pulp Fiction, died of a heart attack in Denver on Monday. He was 68. His children, Greg, Ronnie and Rosalind, said, 'Our father, Stephen Hibbert, passed away unexpectedly this week. His life was full of love and dedication to the arts and his family.

He will be dearly missed by many.' The Gimp had no lines and was covered by a leather bodysuit, and the character has a memorable run-in with Bruce Willis' character. Hibbert said he met Tarantino at the Groundlings and won the part after the two acted out a 'master and slave' scenario for the casting director; the role required no speaking.

He recalled receiving 'two dozen messages' after the film premiered and quipped, 'I quickly changed my number and became unlisted.' He called Pulp Fiction 'one of the greatest films of all time' and 'a great time capsule' of 1990s Los Angeles.
