Adam Levine Broke Into Song, Singing "I Don't Wanna Do It, I Quit!"

Adam Levine, an original coach on The Voice: Battle of Champions with three wins, was visibly distraught during the Battles premiere when he faced sending members of his team home and broke into song about how much the choices were "gonna suck." For his first Battle he paired Hunter Jordan and Bay Simpson on Morgan Wallen's "I'm The Problem," saying, "I did not want to pair Bay and Hunter, but I had to because it made too much sense," as both lean country/rock.

Jordan had earlier inspired Levine to somersault onto the stage after Levine picked him over Kelly Clarkson, while Simpson arrived with a last-minute 1-Chair Turn and "a lot to prove." Levine asked John Legend and Kelly Clarkson for help—Legend called it "This is actually…a dilemma!"—and after their duet Clarkson called Jordan "a sure thing" while noting Simpson "was a surprise." Trying to stall, Levine sang, "I just wrote a new song.

It's called 'This Is Gonna Suck! So Bad!' ... I don’t wanna do it.
