Apple TV's Severance first aired in 2022 and returned in 2025. The series was renewed for Season 3 a year ago on the day of the Season 2 finale, but filming has not yet begun; this summer is the most likely window for cameras, which would almost certainly leave its release day sometime in 2027.

At SXSW, Adam Scott said, "Well, the great thing about the show is that every time we’re starting a new season, this time Season 3, the characters, and not just mine, are in a vastly different place than they were at the beginning of the previous season. So we have to think about all the things from the last season that redefines them, both from the outside, from the audience’s perspective, but also how they define themselves.

It’s always shifting and evolving. So, it’s starting everything from a brand-new place, which is exciting." He added that Season 3 will present acting challenges: "Yes, many things. It’s going to be super interesting and super fun.
