Adam Scott stars in creepy trailer for Hokum
The first full trailer for Damian McCarthy's horror film Hokum places Severance star Adam Scott amid terrifying rabbit creatures, ghastly corpses and other unsettling imagery.
Scott plays novelist Ohm Bauman, who returns to his ancestral Ireland after his parents' death to scatter their ashes. Consumed by tales of a witch haunting the honeymoon suite, disturbing visions and a shocking disappearance force him to confront dark corners of his past.
The film's Irish setting and rabbit-centric imagery recall the Pooka of Celtic folklore, and the trailer highlights folkloric witches who can take rabbit form, as seen in 2015's The Witch. Hokum arrives in theaters on May 1, otherwise known as the witch's holiday Walpurgisnacht in German folklore.
