Adama Traore told he looks like 'a mini bodybuilder' as West Ham ban gym
Paco Jemez, now serving as Nuno Espirito Santo's assistant at West Ham, said the winger resembles an NFL player rather than a traditional footballer and described him as "a bodybuilder in miniature." The coaching staff have placed Traore under a formal weightlifting ban, removing heavy gym work from his routine.
Traore’s natural hypertrophy is so pronounced that additional resistance training is viewed as a hindrance. The club says the ban is intended to preserve his agility and ensure his significant muscle mass does not compromise his record-breaking acceleration and top-end speed.
Jemez painted a vivid picture of that atypical frame: "He has a physique that's not typical of a football player. He's more like an NFL player; he looks like a bodybuilder in miniature." He also cautioned that physical power must be matched by technique: "Physical ability is important, but what's important is the ball.
