Negotiations over Karim Adeyemi's contract have stalled, the Sky Sport podcast "Auffe Süd" says. Dortmund have offered an improved deal that would raise his salary, but are not willing to accept the release clause demanded by his agent, Jorge Mendes, creating a stalemate.

With Adeyemi's deal running until 2027, Dortmund could consider selling him this summer rather than risk losing him for free, and Sky views a fee of around €40 million as realistic. Adeyemi joined from RB Salzburg in 2022 for €30 million but has not been a regular starter this season.

Maximilian Beier has moved ahead of him in the pecking order, leaving Adeyemi more often used as a substitute. He has recorded nine goals and five assists in 35 appearances this campaign. Speculation has also grown around sporting director Sebastian Kehl, who did not deny January rumours linking him to Hamburger SV.
