adidas serve up 90s nostalgia with the Predator EQT boots
adidas has revived its Equipment line with the Predator EQT, a boot that blends a recognisable early-90s aesthetic with modern performance features. The design leans into a clean, retro look while incorporating contemporary construction details. Three metallic silver stripes sit on a deep black base, framed by the trademark Equipment green.
An abstract silver pattern decorates the forefoot and the same green appears on the soleplate. The franchise logo appears on the heel and the fold-over tongue, alongside the marking "EQT 1991." Originally introduced in 1991 as a no-frills, performance-first collection, adidas Equipment used a simple palette of green, black and white and became linked with the baggy shirt and short-shorts era worn by teams such as Arsenal, Liverpool and Bayern Munich.
Original pieces remain sought after by vintage collectors. This release represents a fuller return to the pitch after past nods like the Equipment Predator Precision in 2000 and a Predator Freak EQT pack in 2021.
