AI 'actor' Tilly Norwood stars in new single and video

Tilly Norwood, the AI-generated creation launched last fall by the talent studio Xicoia, has returned with a single and an accompanying music video. Xicoia founder and CEO Eline van der Velden initially tried to get Norwood signed by Hollywood agencies and drew strong criticism, including a SAG-AFTRA statement that said, "'Tilly Norwood' is not an actor, it's a character generated by a computer program that was trained on the work of countless professional performers — without permission or compensation." The new song, titled "Take the Lead," is presented as a response to that backlash.

The Hollywood Reporter says the lyrics were inspired by an essay van der Velden wrote about the reaction from Hollywood.
