A.I. Ads Blitz the Big Game
Artificial intelligence companies flooded the Super Bowl LX broadcast, running a wave of A.I.-themed commercials that may prove more memorable than the game itself. The surge in advertising underscored Big Tech’s recent spending spree and renewed questions about whether high-cost marketing buys will ease investor concerns.
iSpot counted 15 of the 66 spots—almost a quarter—featuring A.I., with 30-second slots selling for an average of $8 million. The roster included major names such as OpenAI and Anthropic, which are said to be preparing to go public this year, alongside start-ups like Genspark and Base44; even Svedka used A.I.
to produce its ad. NBC Sports noted the presence of technology advertisers was double what it was the last time the network broadcast the game in 2022.
