A.I., crypto, pro‑Israel groups and Trump dominate 2026 campaign cash, filings show
New federal filings show that the artificial intelligence industry, the crypto sector, pro‑Israel groups and President Trump’s super PAC have amassed tens — and in some cases hundreds — of millions of dollars heading into the 2026 midterm elections. The filings show Leading the Future, the main A.I.
industry super PAC, raised $50.3 million in the second half of 2025, largely from the family of an OpenAI founder and the venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, and entered 2026 with about $50 million on hand after funneling $10 million to affiliated groups. Crypto’s main outside group, Fairshake, took in $73.8 million in the second half of 2025, with donors including Andreessen Horowitz, Coinbase and Ripple; Fairshake and two affiliates entered 2026 with about $193 million.
The filings also note splinter groups in crypto and that Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss’s company put more than $21 million in Bitcoin into the Digital Freedom Fund. The American Israel Public Affairs Committee moved $30 million to its allied super PAC, the United Democracy Project, which raised $61.6 million in the second half of 2025 and entered this year with almost $96 million on hand; UDP spent about $35 million in House primaries in 2024, the filings show.
