AI still has a long way to go. Just ask Tilly Norwood.
AI performer Tilly Norwood released her debut music video for "Take the Lead" on Tuesday. The four-minute clip is a montage of obviously AI-generated scenes, often deliberately over-the-top, tracing an imagined rise to superstardom—from paparazzi chases to stadium performances.
At one point she sings, "AI's not the enemy, it's the key." Reaction has been mixed; the video had over 100,000 views on YouTube as of Thursday. Eline van der Velden, founder of Particle6, said the goal was not chart success but to show "the current capabilities of AI and how actors and AI can now work together in a hybrid way with performance capture, and demonstrate that human input is still key." The company says 18 "real humans" worked on the production, including prompters, production designers, editors, and an actor.
Online responses skewed dismissive: "It took only 18 humans to achieve this level of soullessness?
