Al-Nassr say Ronaldo suffered only muscle fatigue after limping off
Al-Nassr boss Jorge Jesus moved to allay concerns after Cristiano Ronaldo limped off late in the second half of a 3-1 Saudi Pro League win over Al-Fayha. The victory allowed Al-Nassr to leapfrog Al-Ahli and reclaim the top spot, but Ronaldo's exit left supporters worried.
The Portuguese forward endured a frustrating night. He scuffed an early penalty wide and his side fell behind when an Abdulelah Al-Amri own goal put Al-Fayha ahead; Al-Nassr’s attack struggled to break down the hosts’ defence for long spells. Jesus said the substitution was precautionary and attributed the issue to fatigue, explaining: "He felt muscular fatigue.
After we made it 2-1, I didn't want to risk it and I replaced him. The medical department will assess his condition, but what he felt was just muscle fatigue." Al-Nassr turned the game around in the second half, Sadio Mane scoring in the 72nd minute before Joao Felix's effort ricocheted in off the goalkeeper and Abdullah Al-Hamdan added a third.
