Alan Moore and Grant Morrison Criticize Damon Lindelof's DC Work
Damon Lindelof has a long resume: he created Lost and The Leftovers and wrote films including Prometheus, Star Trek Into Darkness, World War Z and Tomorrowland. Despite those credits, he has drawn the ire of two of DC Comics's most acclaimed writers, Alan Moore and Grant Morrison.
Moore objected to Lindelof's HBO miniseries sequel to Watchmen and revealed in 2022 that Lindelof had sent him a letter. Moore recalled the letter opening, "Dear Mr. Moore, I am one of the bastards currently destroying Watchmen," and described the rest as "neurotic rambling." He said he replied "very abrupt and probably hostile," telling Lindelof that Warner Bros.
and their employees should not contact him, that he had disowned the work, and that it was "embarrassing" and he did not want to be bothered again.
