Alan Ritchson Calls Playing Solid Snake 'The Dream'
Alan Ritchson has backed the idea of playing Solid Snake, sharing BossLogic fan art and calling the casting 'The Dream' while captioning the image 'Next, La Li Lu Le Lo?'. The Reacher star has also found success on Netflix with War Machine, which reached the #1 spot globally and in the United States and follows a soldier forced to fight for survival against a mysterious metallic beast.
Metal Gear was created by Hideo Kojima and developed and published by Konami. The first game, released in 1998, follows a special forces operative assigned to find the titular superweapon 'Metal Gear' and blends stealth, espionage and action with cyberpunk, dystopian, political and philosophical themes.
A live-action adaptation has been in development since 2006. Oscar Isaac was initially attached before dropping out; a script is undergoing rewrites by Derek Connolly, and Kojima has named Tom Burke as his top choice for Solid Snake.
