All About Frost's Parents and the Actors Who Play Them on Chicago Med

Chicago Med has been shaken up again as Dr. John Frost (Darren Barnet) faces a surprising reunion with his parents, Celeste (Tamlyn Tomita) and James (David Costabile). Frost arrived in Season 10 with a backstory: a former child actor on a hit sitcom who looks back on that time with resentment because of family drama.

Viewers first meet his parents in Season 11, Episode 12, "Spill Your Guts." They had financially exploited him during his child-actor days, draining his royalties and prompting him to cut ties and change careers. When Celeste and James turn up in Chicago hoping to reconnect, Frost is cold and suspicious, later learning they have been living in an RV after the monthly checks ended.

After some hesitation he decides to give them the benefit of the doubt and try to rebuild their relationship. Tamlyn Tomita, who plays Celeste, has a multi-decade film and television career.
