All change at Spurs as Tudor inherits a relegation fight
Tottenham's proximity to relegation has become undeniable after West Ham's revival; even an unlikely win over Arsenal would take Spurs only to 32 points and leave them far from secure. Thomas Frank was dismissed after a run that saw Tottenham win just two of their previous 17 league games and only five home matches since November 2024, with 12 players out injured and supporters on the brink of revolt.
The team lost the confidence and the attacking spark that had kept hope alive last season. Decision-making now rests with chief executive Vinai Venkatesham and technical director Johan Lange. Replacing Frank is their first major call since the January arrivals of Conor Gallagher and Souza, and the club have turned to Igor Tudor as interim; his links to Fabio Paratici and reputation in Italy as a specialist "firefighter" made him a plausible short‑term option.
Significant problems remain: a deep injury crisis, a dearth of creativity without Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison, and low confidence.
