All Monster Hunter Stories 3 mutations and how to get them

Monster Hunter Stories 3 has dozens of Monsties, but the rarest ones appear only through mutations. They aren't required to finish the story, yet their boosted stats and improved genes make them valuable additions. Mutations tie into the environment restoration system: releasing monsters into the right ecosystem alongside specific species can produce powerful subspecies like Ivory Lagiacrus or Dreadqueen Rathian.

Pink Rathian appears after you recover the Endangered Rathian egg in Azuria and raise Rathian's Ecosystem Rank to B; it will spawn as long as there's room. Dreadqueen Rathian requires Rathian or Pink Rathian at S Rank and three or more poisonous species nearby — Azuria's Sunpetal Plains is a common place to trigger it thanks to native Gypceros.

Ivory Lagiacrus follows once you save the Endangered Lagiacrus in Azuria and raise its Ecosystem Rank to A. Hellblade Glavenus needs Glavenus at S Rank plus four monsters with razor-sharp appendages such as Shogun Ceanataur, Seregios, Great Izuchi, and Magnamalo.
