All Will Rise dev joins No Games For Genocide boycott, returns Microsoft funding

All Will Rise is an indie deckbuilding RPG from Speculative Agency that targets the rich and powerful and is deeply anti-capitalist. The developer has joined the No Games For Genocide boycott and plans to hand back funding it received from Microsoft. Speculative Agency says it was self-funded and, like many indies, was eager for outside support, so it accepted "some funding" as part of a "developer acceleration programme deal" signed last year.

The change affects the game’s platform plans: it will not launch on Xbox as originally planned and does not have a release date yet, although a demo is available. The studio will need to make up the shortfall; with 10 more days to go its Kickstarter has already smashed its pledge goal, having sought £8,628 and currently sitting at £27,585.
