Amazon discounts Kindle Colorsoft to $200 in early Black Friday sale
Amazon is selling the Kindle Colorsoft at 20% off, reducing the price to $200.
ZDNET reviewer Allison Murray said she went hands-on with the Kindle Colorsoft when it debuted in 2024 and found it still outperforms other color e-readers she tested. She wrote that Amazon gave the model a noticeable performance upgrade: it moves quickly through the Kindle library when selecting a book, pages turn without lag, and the color display isn’t pixelated like some other color e-readers. Murray also highlighted the device’s multi-color annotation feature, which lets readers highlight passages in different colors and organize them into categories (for example, quotes in yellow, facts in blue, characters to remember in purple).
Murray said the Colorsoft is especially well suited to people who enjoy comics or magazines because images pop in vivid color, even in direct sunlight. ZDNET suggested the discounted price could help readers pursuing reading goals for 2026.
ZDNET rated the deal 3/5 and noted the model only goes on sale a few times a year. The outlet described this as an early Black Friday deal and said it expects the discount to last until the sales event officially starts on Friday, Nov. 28 and throughout that weekend. ZDNET also outlined its deal-rating approach, saying it combines percentage-off with factors like frequency, brand recognition and reviewer expertise.
