Amazon is selling the physical edition of Pokémon Pokopia for $80, while the digital edition remains listed at $70, the same price as on the Nintendo eShop. The physical version, released March 5 for the Nintendo Switch 2, has been sold out at retailers such as Target and Walmart, reflecting strong demand and limited supply.

The $80 price point has appeared on other recent releases. Nintendo listed Mario Kart World at $80, and the Switch 2 edition of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is also listed at $80, while its predecessor Breath of the Wild is $70. Many analysts expect the forthcoming Grand Theft Auto 6 will be listed at $80 or higher, and observers say the higher price point is spreading even if it has not become universal.

Some publishers have pulled back from the higher tag: Xbox Game Studios originally planned to sell The Outer Worlds 2 for $80 before reducing the price to $70 amid backlash. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and other Switch exclusives like Donkey Kong Bananza have been listed at $70.
