A third-party seller on Amazon is advertising an HP 15.6-inch laptop as having 1.1 TB of storage, but the listing breaks that down into 128 GB of on-device storage and 1 TB of cloud storage included for a year. Videocardz flagged the listing from Smarisan Tech, which also promotes 32 GB of memory, a free pair of PlusEra wireless earphones and a one-year Microsoft Office subscription as part of a $500 “limited time deal.” Cloud storage and internal storage are not interchangeable: access can be lost if a subscription lapses or if you don’t have internet.

HP’s website shows the actual internal storage for similarly specced models, and Reddit posts note HP laptops can be especially vulnerable to this kind of misleading listing, likely because Office subscriptions are often bundled with Chromebooks. Buyers should check seller details and read the fine print on specs before purchasing.
