Businessinsider reports Amazon is expected to conduct another round of corporate layoffs, and employees are sharing pizza memes in an internal Slack channel as the cuts loom.

The company is expected to cut thousands more corporate roles as soon as next week, which would follow roughly 14,000 jobs eliminated in October, the report said. More than 26,000 employees joined the Slack channel and posted memes riffing on Jeff Bezos' "two-pizza rule." Examples included an image of a single thin sliver of pizza captioned "how we feed two pizza teams" and two AWS-branded pizza boxes captioned "did someone say 2 pizza team?" The memes nodded to Amazon's cloud division, where many of the cuts are expected to land.

Workers also posted other memes referencing the rumored January 27 timing, including a "The Shining" image and a "panik/kalm" template mocking corporate buzzwords and CEO Andy Jassy's 2025 remarks about staying nimble. In the absence of official companywide communication, Amazon did not respond to a request for comment, and employees expressed uncertainty about what will happen on January 27.
