Amazon's 'Jack Ryan' Movie Finally Gets Release Date

Amazon Prime Video’s Jack Ryan will return as a movie in May 2026, Wendell Pierce revealed on X/Twitter. The feature will take the place of a planned Season 5 and brings back John Krasinski as the Tom Clancy analyst. The series began in 2018, with Krasinski shedding his Office persona for a more heroic turn while keeping his everyman charm.

The first season opened as Ryan uncovered suspicious bank transfers that pulled him out of his desk job and into a dangerous chase across Europe and the Middle East. Across four seasons Ryan has faced explosions, a South American presidential conspiracy, a period on the run after being wrongfully accused, and in Season 4 became acting Deputy Director of the CIA while uncovering plots involving drug cartels and terrorists.

A film was announced in 2024, but few details emerged until Pierce’s update. Pierce’s post also outlined other 2026 projects and confirmed he will return as James Greer in the Jack Ryan movie, due in May.
