Analyst warns Project Helix could be costly as 2028 timeline remains uncertain

New Xbox CEO Asha Sharma offered the tiniest sliver of a tease with her March 5 Twitter reveal of next-generation console Project Helix.

Kantan Games founder and industry consultant Dr. Serkan Toto warned fans to prepare for another fat price tag by the time Project Helix launches. He added, 'It sounds like the memory price increase could (hopefully) be history by the time Project Helix goes into mass production,' saying this in reference to global RAM shortages that have delayed hardware production and driven up prices.

Whether 2028 will truly help mark Microsoft's 'commitment to the return of Xbox,' as Sharma said about Project Helix in her tease, is unpredictable.
