Anchor Point parts ways with NetEase, says team 'remains motivated' — Pcgamer

Action-adventure studio Anchor Point has announced it will leave NetEase and operate as an independent studio, CEO Paul Ehreth said on LinkedIn. Ehreth previously served as lead designer on Remedy's Control. Founded in 2023 to develop action-adventure games for console and PC under NetEase, Anchor Point’s departure comes amid a wider rollback by the corporation that included the closure of six western studios.

One of those axed studios, T-Minus Zero, has since relaunched as an independent production company without its original boss, Rich Vogel. Ehreth wrote that independence gives the team a chance to sharpen its vision and pursue partners that align with its creative ambitions.

"As an independent studio, we have the opportunity to focus our vision even more sharply and pursue new partnerships that align with our creative ambitions," he wrote. "Our team remains motivated and deeply committed to the incredible game we’re building.
