Andrew Stanton, the two-time Oscar winner behind Finding Nemo and WALL‑E, has a new live-action science fiction drama, In the Blink of an Eye, which was quietly released on Hulu on February 27, 2026 and is available to stream in the U.S. The film interweaves three timelines: a prehistoric story centered on a boy named Lark (Skywalker Hughes) and his father Thorn (Jorge Vargas); a present-day romance between anthropologist Claire (Rashida Jones) and Greg (Daveed Diggs); and a more overtly sci‑fi segment about astronaut Coakley (Kate McKinnon) on a mission to preserve plant life.

Colby Day wrote the screenplay and Jared Ian Goldman produced. Stanton’s attempt to link those eras met with criticism in this review. The connections between the segments are described as derivative, the characters underdeveloped, and the dialogue often unsubtle.

The cinematography is called conventional, and several performances are said to lack chemistry or feel miscast, leaving the film emotionally distant.
