Former England and Premier League striker Andy Carroll will stand trial after allegations he repeatedly contacted his ex-wife, Billi Mucklow, in breach of a non-molestation order. A judge has fixed the trial for January 18 next year, placing the hearing in 2027.

The case did not proceed as planned at Chelmsford Crown Court when neither Carroll nor his legal representative were present. Prosecutor Leanne Hemming told the court Carroll’s solicitors believed the hearing was on March 4, so Judge Christopher Morgan adjourned the preliminary hearing to allow the defence to attend and set the main trial for early 2027.

Carroll has indicated he intends to deny the charge of failing to comply with the order. Carroll, 37, built his career with clubs including Newcastle, Liverpool, West Ham and West Brom and won nine England caps between 2010 and 2012. He and Mucklow began their relationship in 2014, married in June 2022 and revealed their divorce in September 2024; they share three children, and Carroll has two older children.
