Animal Crossing: New Horizons 3.0 brings Kapp’n hotel and Switch 2 upgrade
Kotaku reports that Animal Crossing: New Horizons' 3.0 update is live, split into a free portion for all players and a paid upgrade for Nintendo Switch 2 owners. The Switch 2 upgrade costs $4.99 for existing owners, and Nintendo says it offers an "enhanced resolution," mouse control support and larger multiplayer sessions.
The headline addition in the free update is Kapp’n’s seaside hotel built on island piers. Isabelle will announce the hotel is open and players can visit the pier to meet Kapp’n, Tom Nook and Leilani, who will prompt you to decorate rooms; you can decorate two rooms per day and earn 200 tickets for doing so.
Tourists who rent rooms will wander the island but cannot be invited to move in, a DIY requests stand on the pier unlocks as you progress, and the wooden parts of the pier can be decorated while the hotel facade itself cannot; the facade appears to receive seasonal decorations. Resetti will appear on islands after the update and can reset portions of your island for a daily fee of 60,000 bells; the first use is free.
