Anna Kendrick's Woman of the Hour Finds an Audience on HBO Max
David Fincher's fans got a first look at his new movie, The Adventures of Cliff Booth, via a teaser that promised a reunion with Brad Pitt. The project is a spin-off to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and arrives as Fincher continues to work with Netflix despite not having had a theatrical release in over a decade.
Another crime film that echoes the tone of Zodiac and the series Mindhunter has quietly found a larger audience. Woman of the Hour premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2023, opened on Netflix domestically, and has since seen a surge on a rival platform; FlixPatrol placed it among the most-watched titles on the global HBO Max charts over Super Bowl weekend, where the leaderboard was topped by M3GAN 2.0.
The film marks Anna Kendrick's feature directorial debut and stars her as an aspiring actor who appeared alongside serial killer Rodney Alcala on The Dating Game in 1978.
