Annual check: The KOTOR remake is still alive
A previous joke that the KOTOR remake would make an "annual" return proved literal when the project reappeared almost exactly a year later to confirm it was still alive.
Willits offered no additional details—no indication of the remake's development state, no timeline, and no word on whether Saber's team had tamed Carth Onasi's annoyances. (I actually don't mind Carth. He's fine.)
The remake has had a rocky road: after its initial announcement it was pulled from Aspyr and quietly handed to Saber Interactive, where it remains under wraps. A report last year confirmed Saber's involvement and revealed that, at least notionally, a KOTOR 2 remake sits on an internal roadmap. It will likely be some time before the first remake appears, and we can probably expect a few more brief updates like this first.
