Anthony Anderson Guest Stars as Courtney’s Father in The Neighborhood

After nearly a decade on air, The Neighborhood is in its final stretch, with the series finale set to arrive on CBS on May 18. With just two months to go, the long-running sitcom’s characters are heading toward the end of their arcs in the eighth and final season.

Anthony Anderson appears as Clancy, Courtney’s father, in the March 30 episode titled “Welcome to the Things We Do for Love.” The episode follows Marty meeting Courtney’s intimidating father to ask for his blessing; Clancy’s cryptic response sends Calvin and Tina digging for answers, and Gemma and Dave are stunned by Grover’s tattoo.

Two first-look images tease the upcoming installment. One shows Marty attempting to win Clancy over during a fine dining meal, while the other captures the meeting between Marty’s father, Calvin (Cedric the Entertainer), and Clancy. Marty (Marcel Spears) and Courtney (Skye Townsend) have seen their relationship heat up since the arrival of their daughter, Daphne, in Season 7.
