Anthropic introduces Claude Code Review for on-site pull request checks
Anthropic has added a Code Review feature to Claude in the research preview, letting teams run reviews on-site without extra plugins. The tool is modeled on the system Anthropic uses internally and is intended to address code review bottlenecks; it will not automatically approve pull requests but aims to help reviewers cover what’s shipping.
Reaction has been mixed. The head of AI at Hedgineer said the feature mainly offers convenience, noting it removes the need for a trigger like a GitHub Action and can be configured directly inside Claude Desktop, while pointing out no clear functional gains versus an existing claude.yml setup.
Another Claude developer, Thariq, argues the new review uses more compute and catches harder bugs. Reviews are billed on token usage and typically average $15–$25, with larger pull requests costing more.
