Apple announces M5 MacBook Air with 512GB base storage
Apple continued its "big week" of product launches on Tuesday with a new M5 MacBook Air lineup. The 13- and 15-inch models will be available on March 11, with preorders opening March 4, and start at $1,099 and $1,299 respectively. Both sizes now come with 512GB of base storage and can be configured up to 4TB for the first time.
Those starting prices are $100 lower than the M4 MacBook Airs with the same amount of storage; Apple had previously offered a 256GB base model at $999, which is no longer available. The M5 Airs add Apple’s N1 wireless chip for Wi‑Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 but are otherwise an iterative update.
They retain the aluminum chassis, 60Hz Liquid Retina displays, 12MP Center Stage webcams, two Thunderbolt 4 ports and an 18-hour battery life rating, and remain available in sky blue, midnight, starlight and silver.
